More friends come to visit...

Emily and Abby are both off of their IVs and wearing cute baby clothes. We continue to be thankful for the visits of friends joining us in welcoming the twins.

Good day...

Both Emily and Abby improved overnight and have been upgraded to less invasive incubators. While Abby continues to be the more active one, Emily has started opening her eyes today and looking around her new world. Meanwhile Taryn continues to become more mobile and inevitably more restless.

Goodnight...

It's been a long day, but a good one. We spent a lot of time with Abby and Emily, as well as with many friends who came to visit. Both of the twins continue to stabilize and improve overall. This evening Emily reminded us that she is still very young by forgetting to breathe for a few moments. The nurses were able to encourage her with just a little stimulation. So it was no big emergency, just a reminder that Emily and Abby are very young and are still working on the basics.

All of the nurses are amazed by Taryn's progress. Apparently it is very rare for someone, after a c-section, suffering from preeclamsia, and on the medications Taryn was on, to get up to the NICU to see their babies the same day of their surgery. They were equally amazed when Taryn woke up this morning ready to walk on her own, as well as hold and feed the twins. Of course in all of her amazing feats of strength and recuperation, Taryn did get a little behind on her pain medications and was forcefully reminded by nature that she is, in fact, human. But after a few minutes in bed and a few very nice pills, Taryn was back on her feet and back in the NICU with Abby and Emily. But now enough is enough and Taryn is ready for a good night sleep again after enjoying lots of baby time and lots of time with friends and family.

Visitors...

Lots of visitors today. Many thanks to everyone that stopped by to talk with Taryn and see the twins. Special thanks to Jeremy who somehow made it through his visit without having his picture taken, and to Justin and Lisa for the awesome care package.

Off the meds and feeding babies...

Taryn is off her magnesium sulfate drip (or "the mag" as the nurses call it) and is feeling more lucid by the minute. We went up to hold the babies for the first time and feed them. Emily continues to be the "chill" one. She mostly sleeps and peeps like a little chick every once in a while. Abby on the other hand continues to be the active trouble maker, scooting herself around in her bed and looking around the room.

A new day...

Taryn is looking forward to visitors today, but she is still heavily medicated and can't remember anything for more than a few minutes. So before you come to visit, please call Byron at 774.280.1129 to arrange a time. We mostly just want to space out the visits evenly and provide details on the relevant "procedures" during your visit. We look forward to seeing you.

Hi it's Taryn in a semi-conscious state so this may be choppy but I wanted to make sure that it was updated. iIt was brought to my attention that Abby is no longer requiring breathing assistance, so they are both breathing tube free now. I've only gotten to spend a few minutes with each of the girls because I've been so heavily medicated but sometime tomorrow I'll be free from the wires and drugs and I'll be able to have to more information. Thanks for all the well-wishes so far! Hopefully we'll see you all soon. Again, I apologize if this was completely incoherent.
